Power electronics module

This highly automated assembly line performs the fully automatic assembly of the power electronics module onto the transmission housing. The module is an integral part of hybrid transmission systems and is responsible for controlling the electrical drive functions within the powertrain.

To ensure reliable sealing of the assembled transmission, a viscous sealant is applied between the power electronics module and the transmission housing. Prior to dispensing, the sealing surfaces of both components are cleaned by laser in dedicated stations located in the pre-assembly area and in the the so-called LE loop. The sealant is subsequently applied in a fully automated process to ensure consistent quality and process reliability.

In the next process step, a robot precisely positions the power electronics module on the transmission housing and presses it into place. The assembly is then transferred automatically to the downstream screwdriving process.
