
Auxiliary coolant pumps
Automated production
On our highly automated production line, an auxiliary coolant pump with integrated electric drive and control unit is precisely assembled in six stations.
All components of the electric drive are integrated into one half of the pump housing, while the pump unit is assembled on the opposite side. Subsequently, the pump cover with pre-assembled control unit is joined, continuously monitored by in-process controls to ensure the highest quality.
The assembly process includes caulking and leak testing of the housing, inductive heating and insertion of the stator as well as the bearings with active cooling and roll-forming of the bearing seat. Subsequently, the shaft seal ring and rotor are assembled, the rotor is magnetized and tested using back-EMF testing. The impeller and cover are assembled, housing and impeller dimensions are recorded, joined with force-displacement monitoring, and tested for water-side leak tightness.
This is followed by assembly and testing of the ECU with the bearing cover and finally connector assembly, flashing, functional and EOL testing. Finally, structure-borne noise measurement, verification reading of the labeling, and archiving of quality data are performed—for maximum precision and complete traceability of every component.
